Here is a copy of the log file created by HijackThis. I haven't attempted to move any further because thus far I've been unable to uninstall the application (SurfSideKick 3). I thought that maybe the log would be useful...

Alright, you will then have to burn all the needed programs to CD's to get them to the infected PC. :thumbsup:

This will definately take more than few steps, since the PC is badly infected.

Let's get started:

RIGHT-CLICK HERE and Save As (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download DelDomains.inf to your desktop.
To use: RIGHT-CLICK DelDomains.inf and select: Install (no need to restart)

==

Please download Look2Me-Destroyer to your desktop.
  • Close all windows before continuing.
  • Double-click Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to run it.
  • Put a check next to Run this program as a task.
  • You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Destroyer will close and re-open in approximately 10 seconds. Click OK
  • When Look2Me-Destroyer re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
  • You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
  • When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Destroyer will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
  • Your computer will then shutdown.
  • Turn your computer back on.
  • Please post the contents of C:\Look2Me-Destroyer.txt in your next reply.
If you receive a message from your Firewall about this program accessing the Internet, please allow it.

If you receive a runtime error '339' please download MSWINSCK.OCX from the link below and place it in your C:\Windows\System32 Directory.
http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/images/lib/MSWINSCK.OCX

==

Please download delcmdservice (by Marckie), and save it to your Desktop.
  • Unzip the content to your Desktop (a folder named delcmdservice)
  • Double-click on the delcmdservice folder
  • Double-click on delreg.bat to launch the tool
  • When the tool has finished, please reboot your computer.
==

Please download Ewido Anti-Malware, it is a free version of the program.
  • Install Ewido Anti-Malware
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
    • Install background guard
    • Install scan via context menu
  • Launch Ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
  • The program will now open to the main screen.
  • When you run Ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  • You will need to update Ewido to the latest definition files.
    • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
    • Then click on Start Update.
  • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
    (the status bar at the bottom will display ("Update successful")
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update Ewido.
Ewido manual updates

==

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Please run a scan with Ewido:
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
  • Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily. (Maybe Desktop)
  • Close Ewido Anti-Malware.
==

Now, reboot back into Normal mode, open the Report.txt file and copy & paste it's content to this thread along with a fresh HijackThis log aswell as the contents of C:\Look2Me-Destroyer.txt log. :flowers:

i attempted to run the Look2Me-Destroyer app, but it doesn't seem to be accomplishing it's task. the icons on the desktop never disappear, and the application does not restart on it's own.

I guess we need to do this manually then. :thumbsup:

==

Please print these instructions out, or write them down, as you can't read them during the fix.

I need you to create a folder called C:\HJT.
When you have created the new folder, please move HiJackThis.exe to that folder from the current location you have it at. Run HJT from the new location. This is important so it's backups will be in an easy place to access if necessary.

==

A malicious .DLL file is disrupting the LSP chain on your computer. We need to get rid of it;
  • Please download LSPFix from here.
  • Run the LSPFix.exe that you have just finished downloading.
  • Check the I know what I'm doing box.
  • You will see 2 panels.
  • If there is any file listed in the "Remove" panel on the right-side, leave it as is and just click "Finish>>"
  • Reboot.
(If there's nothing listed under "Remove", PLEASE just close LSPFix and don't do anything else.)

==

Run a scan with HijackThis and check the following objects for removal:

Alrighty. :thumbsup:

==

Let's continue:

Please print these instructions out, or write them down, as you can't read them during the fix.

Please copy the following text in the quotebox below to a blank Notepad file. Make sure the filetype is set to "All Files" and save it as Removeservice.bat. to your desktop.

@echo off
sc stop lsass
sc delete lsass
sc stop "Network Monitor"
sc delete "Network Monitor"

Double-click on Removeservice.bat. A window will pop up and close. This is normal.

==

Next:

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.
  • Click on Avenger.zip to open the file
  • Extract Avenger.exe to your desktop.
2. Copy all the text in bold contained in the quotebox below to a blank notepad file:

Folders to delete:
C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 3\
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VCClient\
C:\Program Files\Network Monitor\

Files to delete:
C:\WINDOWS\winsysupd7.exe
C:\WINDOWS\scvhost.exe
repairs302972994.dll

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.
  • Under "Script file to execute" choose "Input Script Manually".
  • Now click on the Magnifying Glass icon which will open a new window titled "View/edit script"
  • Paste the text copied to the notepad file into this window
  • Click Done
  • Now click on the Green Light to begin execution of the script
  • Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.
The Avenger will automatically do the following:
  • Restarts your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Unload", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
  • On reboot, it briefly opens a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
  • After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avengerís actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
  • The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.
5. Please copy/paste all the contents of avenger.txt into your reply along with a fresh HJT log by using AddReply. :flowers:
