When I insert a memory stick or external hard drive into my Toshiba satelite laptop ( running XP Prof s/p 2) I can see the contents of the drives but if I click on any folder Xp reverts to the desk top page. All of the other function / folders work properly.
Local IT guys are stumped. !! :-)

Hi -
Can you update to SP 3 , or is there a problem ??
Any USB stick ?? or has this stick never been cleaned / formatted from new or its last use ?? -Always remember to clean your sticks
•Insert your USB flash drive into your PC.
•Click Start > My Computer, right click your flash drive's icon and select Format > Quick format
- this will wipe the contents of the flash drive, so make sure there is nothing of value on there!

Now retest it -
