I am trying to use live mail in Win 7 to access usenet newsgroups. Every time I try to load the list of newsgroups I get message "Windows Live mail can not connect to the internet possibly because possibly because antivirus or firewall program will not allow it". I see that when the connection window opens it says "finding host", then "connecting" and then the message.
I am using avira antivirus and I disabled the real time protection already, I also have disabled the Windows firewall. None of these programs gave me any warnings or other messages but I disabled them anyway just to make sure.
Can anyone let me know what might be happening and what should I try next?
