I have been using windows updates on my computer for a while now. I have windows xp and use internet explorer 8 on my computer. A few days ago I tried to run a scan. The windows update page would not even load. The page just remained blank. Why is that?

Please download FarbarServiceScanner and run it on the computer with the issue.
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/farbar/FSS.exe

Make sure the following options are checked:
Internet Services
Windows Firewall
System Restore
Security Center/Action Center
Windows Update

Press "Scan".
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

Hi InadequateInfirmity -
I would wait for a reply from the OP as to wheather the previous items work prior to asking for scans
They still only have 1 Post and no answer yet -

Just my view -
