Hi Bleeping.

Normally I don't have a problem removing any bugs I get, but this one is kicking my arse.

System: Laptop, Core i5 running Windows 7 ultimate x64.

A am running the latest unpaid version of the 'new' MalwareBytes and have MS security essentials. It has Sophos endpoint security installed as well.

A week or two ago, I picked up some bug, or else it surfaced and Malwarebytes started popping up a notification that it was blocking a suspicious outbound packet on some port. It did this almost every 20-30 seconds and each time a different port was listed. So I updated and scanned with Mbam. I did this repeatedly for a few days whenever I was relaxing and not working on my laptop directly. Eventually security essentials started listing quarantined items as well, three or four. So I allowed it to clean, then reboot, and rescanned with it. Anything that was found, I allowed it to clean and then rebooted. Same with Mbam, but it got to the point where Mbam kept finding the same thing, it was persistent and would not allow removal. I used unlocker to find the item and remove it. It was a temporary file of some sort in the Appdata / Sun / Java directory. Whatever it was was coming up as a svchost.exe process. After I finally got rid of the offending file, I removed the entire sun folder and all of it's contents. I don't care much about java but figured I could install it later as necessary. I did not use regedit in this case to remove anything under sun or java, as I might usually do with some offender (or did with XP).

I have since uninstalled Mbam since the trial for the continuous monitoring ended, now the cursor jumps around, causing my WPM to basically be crap. It has not had any other strange behavior like popups, screen shifting or blinking, anything self closing, etc...

I am also not sure if I really got rid of it because the cursorjumping could be me touching the tracknub or pad... or an outdated driver for it? I never have an issue with accidentally brushing the trackpad or nub while typing though.

Since Mbam was the only thing actively detecting strange outbound activity, I don't have any indication that it is still going on now. As I am typing this... I am typing on another computer while remoted into my laptop, placing the text in the field on the laptop-side. I have not yet seen it jump so I guess it could be A) me being a dumbarse touching the trackpad or nub or B) triggered only when the laptops keyboard is being used?

Some of the items deleted by security essentials (in history) were:

Trojan:DOS/Alureon.A
TrojanDownloader:Java/OpenStream.BC
Exploit:Java/CVE-2010-0094.DB
Exploit:Java/CVE-2010-0094.CY
Exploit:Java/CVE-2010-0094.FT
Exploit:Java/CVE-2010-0094.DE
Exploit:Java/Blacole.ED
Exploit:Java/CVE-2010-0094
Exploit:HTML/IframeRef.Z
Exploit:Java/Blacole.ED
Trojan:Win32/Malagent

And some duplicates of the above.

Anyways, I hope this was enough info to help troubleshoot.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Hi Broni,

Thank you for your help. I have all the logs you requested but my laptop is a member of a corporate domain. Most if not all of the data contains internal IP's and other information that I'm not sure I should be posting on a public forum. Is there any way that I can post such logs on a more private channel?

You ARE infected but this type of infection will require more advanced tools.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.
