Hi.

My PC has started running incredibly slow when connection to the internet in any way. Whether it's an IM, an online game like Warcraft or web browser, it takes an age to load anything up. I've run Avast antivirus and malware bytes and they've found nothing. Last time this happened and I asked for help here, a host of digital nastiness was found slowing my PC down. I've spoken with my ISP and they said all services are fine, plus the other PC in the house is running fast as always. Also, and it's random which programs bring this up, but often I get a macro which states "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \device\harddisk5\DR5" and asks to either Cancel, Try Again or Continue and you have to hit either of these buttons at least 10 times to make the macro go away. Here are the items I'm required to post here -

Your logs are clean.

I suggest you cover this security issue.

Get the latest version of the Adobe Reader.
http://get.adobe.com/reader/
Before your download I suggest you unckeck the box on the top right "Include in your download" this is not required. While the installation is in progress you can also deny the installation of any other programs that may be suggested.

When installed remove your old version of the Reader using the Add/Remove Programs applet if present.

Please insert a disk into drive \device\harddisk5\DR5" and asks to either Cancel, Try Again or Continue .

If this is still an issue it may just be that you removed a CD from one of your drive (5) before closing the program running.

At start up, is there a light running on one or your DRIVE that your indicate which one it is?

If positive place a CD in the drive and restart the computer.
Makes sure that all programs are closed remove the CD and restart the computer normally.

Keep me posted.
