Hello,

I am on a Dell Dimension DIMC521, AMD Athlon running Windows XP Home 2002, SP3. AVG has popped up twice today with a "Threat Detected!" called Trojan Horse Dropper.Generic5.CGOS. In the Virus Vault, one of them says C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\reader_sl.exe and the other is

C:\System Volume Information\_restore{202550A8-7A3304bCA-9586-051D24DDBF8F}\RP1650\A0172113.exe

I have updated both AVG and MBAM and run complete scans - both come up clean. However, the second threat detected came after these scans.

Ideas? Advice?

Thanks!

That's one of your restore points.

Reset them.
Turn system restore off.
Restart computer.
Turn system restore on.
