Sorry, but Malwarebytes Anti-malware and a few other programs work poorly while in Safe Mode {Not programmed that way} -
Please first post a snapshot with Speccy
Publish a Snapshot using Speccy =<< Directions
We can take it from there -

Thank You -

Having trouble getting Speccy to run, I keep getting " application quit unexpectedly".

I tried at least 4 times I turned off all spy/malaware and firewalls off and still can't get it to work.

At the last try I sent the crach report off to Piriform.

I also tried other sites to download but no good.

Thanks
Eddee

OK Ed, try this download in Safe Mode, but try to scan while online -
Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
•Flush DNS
•Report IE Proxy Settings
•Reset IE Proxy Settings
•Report FF Proxy Settings
•Reset FF Proxy Settings
•List content of Hosts
•List IP configuration
•List last 10 Event Viewer log
•List Installed Programs
•List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
•List Minidump Files

Click Go and post the result (Result.txt). A copy of Result.txt will be saved in the same directory the tool is run.

Note: When using "Reset FF Proxy Settings" option Firefox should be closed.

1) What is new or different since the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?

2) It is certainly possible your system is infected. However, let's try a selective startup and see what happens:

Open msconfig and on the General tab choose "selective startup" (uncheck all three items) and reboot. Does the problem still occur? If not, start adding items back to msconfig one or two at a time, rebooting after each change, until the problem reappears and you'll have identified the offending process. This is clearly a time consuming procedure, but it is the best way to determine if some process loading with the system is the cause of your problem.
After you've isolated the cause, do not use msconfig to permanently disable the process. Instead, if it is a service go to START - RUN and type: services.msc (then press enter) and disable the service OR, if it a program, you can download & run a simple app such as Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel (http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml) to enable, disable, or otherwise manage startup programs.

Hi Ed -
A bit of clean up, a few questions, and some advice -

IObit Malware Fighter (Version: 1.0) - - Uninstall this old version - Not required with Malwarebytes installed -

Java™ 6 Update 26 (Version: 6.0.260) - - Check for updates -
Open Control Panel > Look for Java (Coffee cup) > Click to open > 2nd Tab is Update . It will update or say "You have the Latest Version"

Spybot - Search & Destroy (Version: 1.6.2) Check for updates -Next always good to Disable Tea Timer -
Disable Spybot's TeaTimer to make sure it won't interfere with other security programs. (avast, Malwarebytes etc.)
* Go to the Mode menu and select Advanced Mode
* On the left hand side, click on Tools
* Then click on the Resident icon in the list
* Uncheck > Resident TeaTimer and OK any prompts.

Description: The IP address lease 10.1.1.4 for the Network Card with network address 001BB9F4DD2D has been

Have you had any email contact from your Internet Provider ?? if not I would contact them to redo your Modem settings -

Error: (04/16/2012 04:00:29 PM) (Source: Intel® AMT) (User: )
Description: [UNS] Failed to subscribe to local Intel® AMT.
(Several Times) The UNS "Error" will be replaced with a "Warning" in future versions of AMT.
You need to disable the UNS Service in order to prevent the error from being displayed in the Event Log.
To disable the UNS service manually:
1) Click Start
2) Right click on "My Computer"
3) Click on "Manage"
4) Select "Services and Applications"
5) Select "Services"
6) Double click on "Intel® Active Management Technology User Notification Service"
7) Change "Startup Type" to "Disabled".
8) Click on "Apply"

Error: The StarOpen service failed to start due to the following error:%%2 -
Advice is to set ipsec service to manual, as you don't need it, unless you are using remote access control (Rasman) or other special applications requiring control or encryption of traffic between your PC and others (you would know if you did. Normal PC use does not).
To set the service to manual:
- Click start, run, type services.msc, click OK or press enter.
In the window that opens in the right pane scroll down to IPSEC services. Double click on it to open its property window.
In the startup type dropdown box, select manual. Click Apply, OK. Restart your PC check that the warning in event viewer does not recur.

Run chkdsk /r (this will take about 1 hour) - Type or Copy / Paste this in Run Box, Click OK, and Reboot to start it (no XP CD needed)

Do you have a Genuine Windows XP Pro CD, not a reinstall CD, or can you borrow one (there are millions around) but it must be a XP Pro CD ??
If you do have one then run sfc /scannow , again in Run Box , Type or Copy / Paste sfc /scannow and click OK then insert your CD -

Now let us know if anything is better or still the same -

Thank You -

First Delete XP Repair Pro (Version: 5.5.0) from Add / Remove, or its own unstaller (if it still exists) -
This claims to fix about 1,000 problems, and we know that it will not -

XP Repair Pro 4.1.0 | 5.5 MB
XP Repair Pro is a popular system utility that is designed to allow any computer user to quickly and easily repair common errors that occur in Windows and thousands of other software titles

Unless you use PC Connectivity Solution (Version: 11.5.29.0), I would also delete this program -
Now see how you go with these items -

Open MSconfig disable everything except your antivirus. If you connect wirelessly then do not disable anything that reads wireless.REoot. You do not need anything other than your AV starting with your machine.
>> Diagrams >>
http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/index.html
Hit the start button in lower left hand corner. Then in the run box type msconfig, then hit the services tab then put a check mark in hide microsoft services .

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902
unzip Autoruns to your desktop run it. See any entries that read file not found when you see them right click and select delete do this only for the entries that read file not found also uncheck any scheduled task that are set to run on your machine, close the program.

After completing the above task then Please download TFC by Old Timer and save it to your desktop.
http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/TFC.exe
Save any unsaved work. TFC will close ALL open programs including your browser!
double click on TFC.exe to run it.If TFC doesnt prompt a reboot then please do so manually

Hit start at the lower left hand corner type cmd in the run box and copy and paste the following info chkdsk /r. We did this, but please run it again -
Hit enter it will ask to schedule a check disk on the next reboot hit y type exit then reboot your machine. It will take an hour or so to finish let it be this is normal.

Also make sure your printer is not connected, as one error message lists this as a problem -

Post back after you do these

Thanks -
Edited for Spelling -

Hi Ed -
Now can you do the Reverse of what you have done above, and enable the programs again ? ?
There should not have been much to mess up if you followed the directions -
On the General Tab, click "Normal" Start up -

>> http://www.magicaljellybean.com/downloads/KeyFinderInstaller.exe Magical Jelly Bean free program will show your Windows Key for you
Copy and paste this number into Notebook to save it if ever needed -
Below is typical from MagicalJellyBean - It just reads your Windows number (CD Key) -
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
Installed from 'OEM' media.
Product ID: 76487-OEM-0014691-44479 match to CD Key data
CD Key: Txxxx-VxxxD-Dxxx6-CxxxG-xxxK8
