My names is James and I currently live in Santa Barbara CA.

I have been working and playing with PCs since 1984 but am not a technician; I am comfortable with software and hardware installation.

I have visited bleepingcomputer.com over the years when searching for technical answers.

I am building my first new PC. Yes I have built PCs from parts and installed new hardware in PCs many times but I have never bought and constructed a new PC from scratch.

New system: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1, Antec Nine Hundred, CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 750W, i5-2500K, ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, Corsair Vengeance Blue 16 GB DDR3, OCZ 120GB Vertex 3 SATA 6Gb/s SSD, Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache, EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti FPB 1024 MB GDDR5, Samsung Super Writemaster, Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000, and Logitech Speaker System Z523 with Subwoofer.

A fairly conservative build with options to expand. Your comments are welcomed.

Current system: Windows 7 Professional 32-bit SP1 (wubi Ubuntu Linux 12.04 beta1 dual boot), Pentium 4, 3.40GHz, Step 10, 64-bit, Intel D915GEV, 4.00 GB (2.87 usable), Seagate, 1TB, 7200rpm, SATA, 3.0GB/s, Western Digital My Book Essential, 1TB, USB 2.0, 480Mb/s, NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS, 512MB DDR3, Creative SB Audigy, Creative 2:1 with Subwoofer, Lexmark Prevail Pro 705, D-Link DIR-655, and Microsoft LifeCam.
