Hello,

I am just starting programming in C++, and I am using Programmer`s Notepad 2. I am unsure as of now how to compile programs and run them as they are meant to do.

I will have a few more questions as soon as that is resolved.

Thank you,

Mr. Ninja

You need to install a C++ compiler; programmers notepad is not a compiler. What platform are you developing for?

Oh, thought it was a compiler. I`m going to try to program a board to do this. Right now I`m just learning the code.

What I`m trying to do is automate the scoring at a big paintball scenario, to reduce the amount of work and confusion.

Ok, but I can't give you instructions until I know what platform you're developing for.

Sorry, I`m new to programming and such, but exactly what do you mean by platform.

Windows. Linux. Mac OSX. Apache. IIS. Nginx. Cygwin. etc. Whatever you'd be building your application on top of.

Ok, then you'll need to install the Windows Platform SDK, which includes C and C++ compilers for Windows. You may wish to consider using Visual C++ Express Edition instead of progammers notepad as well; this will install the Windows SDK for you.
