I have no idea what happened. I definately have not done it, my mom could not have done it, none of my sisters and brothers are smart enough to do it. Then how did it happen? I open up my programs folder from the start menu and EVERY folder is empty!! I would not dare to do such an act. How did this happen then? I recently backed up my drive using Nero 6 and I made some tweaks to my Windows startup and apps. Could that have done it? I have no idea, that is why I humbly ask for your services.

Here's the link to the tweaking page: http://www.geocities.com/br_dalamar_br/PCHealth/index.html
I clicked on the link that says Optimizing Windows XP

Also, I have like the cleanest computer in the tri-state area... lol jk, but it is very clean. (viruses, spyware, etc etc)

Thanx guys.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.

You could try a System Restore to restore your settings back to the way they were before. More info on this can be found HERE.

When you stopped startup programs, what exactly did you uncheck?

Did you research everything you stopped?

If you're not infected with a virus or spyware - then this is most likely a registry problem caused by the "tweaking".

System Restore may be able to get you back up and running as Albert says.

Otherwise, you're probably looking at a repair install if you don't have a good copy of the registry laying around.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
