Hello,

I am having no luck opening pictures when javascript is used. It gives me the message java script:popUp then the description of what I'm trying to open but I just double click and nothing happens. I downloaded the Javascript Runtime and still had no luck.

I do use a lot of the spyware programs suggested by bleeping computer folks and don't know if that is the problem.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

It could be,with xp,the popup blocker.
With Google Toolbar too.
Try holding the Ctrl key the next time you click one of the popups or javascript new windows.

or it may be something else...

Thanks for the advice but unfortunately it didn't work.

I do have Windows XP and can't access Javascript pictures from either Internet Explorer or Netscape.

Does anyone know what I can do or has anyone come across this problem? It's really annoying not being able to open picture links when everything except Javascript appears to be working fine.

Do XP block or disable Javascript capability?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just to clarify things--

Are you talking about JAVA

or javascript?

Sometimes people confuse them.

Just Java Script, nothing other than the plug-in that allows for certain website picture links to be opened into Java script.

I updated to the most updated Netscape and have Internet Explorer updated, then went and downloaded the most recent version of Javascript from Java.com.

You did NOT download javascript.

You downloaded the Java runtime environment.
Java & javascript are NOT the same thing.

See this picture that might solve your problem--

click here to see various settings you need to change

You notice it is called java.com & NOT javascript.com?
