My computer is randomly restarting.
i dont have an OS yet as i havent been able to get very far without the computer restarting.
Im trying to install Win98 though. Ive partitioned the hard drive but havent been able to format it yet becuase of the restarting problems. Ive been able to boot with Linux Live CDs and toy around eith those for several minutes. I've tested the RAM, and am pretty sure that's not the problem.

My system specs:
1ghz AMD Athlon
10gig HD
256MB RAM
GeForce 4MX video card

I'd suspect heat issues first (since you can play around a bit before it restarts). Is there any thermal paste between the CPU and the CPU cooler? Does the CPU fan work?
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
