does team viewer use the internet to connect me to my network computers?

Because doing a tracert on a laptop running team viewer (working with my main PC) , I dont see any 192.168.0.x

sorry if this is a stupid question but I'd like to know, some times I think team viewer is slow on my own LAN when it should be almost as good as having a second monitor, if you know what I'm saying.

Yes, it does.

Due to the way Teamviewer works it does not take into account the relative locations of the two machines
