Hi!

I downloaded the program imesh in error, several weeks ago thinking it was a different program. After downloading it I realized that it was not a good program. It enabled a imesh tool bar and did all sorts of other strange things to my computer. I deleted it in add/remove programs and also went through and searched for files and deleted those. I thought it was gone but since my computer has been painfully slow. AVG was having issues and would not update citing "general error" I removed this and re-installed it with success. I have run Spybot Search and Destroy, Anti-Malware and AVG. They all turn up no infected files. However, yesterday Spybot kept popping up asking me to "allow change" or "deny change" regarding some imesh files. Please help!

Thank you

The only issue I encountered was that already had Malwarebytes' downloaded on my cpu so I was just going to update and run the quick scan. However it would not allow me to update citing a numerical error code. I just ran the quick scan with the version I have which I have updated recently.

What next? Thanks!

I don't see anything malicious there.

Uninstall AVG using AVG Remover: http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities
Install ONE of these:
- Avast! free antivirus: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
- free Microsoft Security Essentials: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows/products/security-essentials
- free Comodo Antivirus: http://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/antivirus.php

Any better?

I Installed Comodo. It detected 7 threats:

Malware@#1xf3c82c0syyr C:\WINDOWS\system32\word\cult.exe

Malware@#cu3bny8k6liq C:\WINDOWS\system32\word\ger.exe

Malware@#y8kiuxifrsdl C:\WINDOWS\system32\word\few.exe

Suspicious@#o9qn3ikrl1en C:\Documents and Settings\Ana Konopka\My Documents\Downloads\aswMBR.exe

I removed them. Can I delete the MBR from my desktop?

Thank you.

Yes you can.

Now regarding MBAM...

1. Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
2. Restart your computer (very important).
3. Download and run this utility.
4. It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to).
5. After the computer restarts, install the latest version from here.

See if if it'll install and update now.
