Freeware Replacements For Common Commercial Apps

Scroll down to Firewalls

You will need to disable the XP firewall if and when you install a free stand alone firewall.

How are you trying to uninstall it - with its own uninstaller or add/remove programs in the control panel?

If you can't uninstall it you can disable it from starting in startup menu.
