I am looking at compressing (i think the term is called) to make the folder size smaller. i have WinRAR installed. I compress the folder I want (by right-clicking on it), and then it creates a zip for me for that folder. I look at the properties for both, but they are the same size. How can I make this folder smaller? Am I thinking of something else?

What sort of file is it? Images? Word Docs? What is the size of the folder currently? Some types of image files do not compress with any degree of difference.

Thats your problem. jpegs are highly compressed as is. So you won't gain anything compressing them.
