My budget for the new computer is: I'm hoping for around $700 but may be able to go higher.

What are the primary uses for this computer (IE: mail, web browsing, programming, games, etc)? Gaming and web browsing.

What software do you intend on using on the computer? Diablo 3, Skype, Firefox

Do you play games? If so, what type of games? Want to play Diablo 3. (Req: http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/diablo-iii-system-requirements)

Do you tend to have a lot of programs running at the same time, or do you close every program when you are done using it? I always have skype open but that is about it.

Do you store a lot of pictures or music on the computer? Some music.

Is there a way for me to get a laptop that will run the game for that price? I may be able to go up to $800. If not, can you suggest a desktop maybe?

lenovo IdeaPad Z570 (1024DMU)

This laptop has a decent cpu and gpu. It should be able to play Diablo 3 and be able to do the other tasks you have mentioned.

Thanks for the suggestion. Honestly, I don't know what processors are good and which aren't... how to tell which will actually play the game and which won't... I've never had anything more powerful than a $300 desktop from WalMart.

I just used the Diablo 3 system requirements to determine which laptop can play it and one that is within your budget.
