There appears to be a flaw in the VLC player updater which fails to update the Firefox plugin when the user updates the player to 2.0.1

This may expose the system to the exploits described in this article: VLC Media Player 2.0.1 closes security holes

As a precaution, I just uninstalled, rebooted, downloaded a new copy from http://www.videolan.org/ and reinstalled the player. But the Firefox plugin continues to show as version 2.0.0

I've therefore disabled the Firefox plugin via the Add-ons manager which you can access by hitting CTRL+SHIFT+A.
