Hey there
Having a few problems that are making me wonder if I have a "bug"

I bought my laptop (HP Notebook) a little less than 2 years ago. I posted here a few weeks ago about having "Explorer Not Responding" messages but seem to have fixed that.. and thanks !

But now.... in the few days I notice Norton is popping up messages saying it has blocked attempted to attacks on my computer. This happened frequently two days ago throughout the day.. it now seems to have subsided.

Next my computer shut down unexpectedly. Got the Blue Screen Error message.. this has now happened twice in less than two days.

last night I put the computer into "hibernate" to go from work to home.. my battery is running REAL LOW (and has shut off on me a few times) so I figured I would make it home in but when I went to log on (10-15 min later) I got the messaged that Windows was unable to start. I waited for the "repair start up" but fell asleep waiting. This morning I followed the steps and was able to log on ... so I came to your forums first!

About a week ago or longer.. I ran (malwarebytes it said nothing is threatening but it ran for over 24 hours!.. it was still going when I shut it down) Norton says "protected" same with Macfee..

Theres a few more things Im not thinking of right now happening as well...
Needless to say Im worrying if I caught a bug ....Anything I can do to help my laptop out.?
Thanks for your help :)

Hello, lets see what these say.

Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
  • Flush DNS
  • Report IE Proxy Settings
  • Reset IE Proxy Settings
  • Report FF Proxy Settings
  • Reset FF Proxy Settings
  • List content of Hosts
  • List IP configuration
  • List Winsock Entries
  • List last 10 Event Viewer log
  • List Installed Programs
  • List Devices
  • List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
  • List Minidump Files
Click Go and post the result (Result.txt). A copy of Result.txt will be saved in the same directory the tool is run.

Please download TDSSKiller.zip and and extract it.
  • Run TDSSKiller.exe.
  • Click Start scan.
  • When it is finished the utility outputs a list of detected objects with description.
The utility automatically selects an action (Cure or Delete) for malicious objects.
The utility prompts the user to select an action to apply to suspicious objects (Skip, by default). Let the options as it is and click Continue
  • Let reboot if needed and tell me if the tool needed a reboot.
  • Click on Report and post the contents of the text file that will open.

Note: By default, the utility outputs the log into system disk (it is usually the disk with installed operating system, C:\) root folder. The Log has a name like: TDSSKiller.Version_Date_Time_log.txt.

If TDSSKiller does not run, try renaming it. To do this, right-click on TDSSKiller.exe, select Rename and give it a random name with the .com file extension (i.e. 123abc.com). If you do not see the file extension, please refer to these
instructions. In some cases it may be necessary to redownload TDSSKiller and randomly rename it before downloading and saving to the computer.
