My hp pavilion m8100n media center pc does not turn on anymore. I'm not sure if there was a power spike or something that left it in this state but all i know is that i checked the power cable and its plugged in. The green led that is next to the power supply turns on and stays on when i plug the computer to the electric outlet but the computer does not turn on. No fans move, no booting screen, complete silence. I'm not sure what to do at this point or how to proceed. Please someone out there with the right knowledge help me. On a side note i believe this incident happened over night since i was using it last night before i went to bed. 12

HI,

Simply put the source of the problem could be the power supply or the other parts of the computer.

To test see if you have a spare power supply or if you can borrow one from a friend.
That is the first test, If that cures it done.
This is the first step I take for this type of problem.

If not report back.
If you can, get a large clear dust free shot of the Motherboard and post that,
to see if there are any obvious problems showing. Must be your motherboard not a image off of the Internet too.

Good Luck
Roger
