Windows Update Freezes Up

Hi all,

I got an automatic update from windows(little yellow shield).It never would update more than 39% then would stop. I have been trying to get to windows update web site.....my computer will hang up as soon as I click on the link or type in the address...I have tried to do through microsoft web page ....Same thing happens. I'm sure I need this update BUT HOW DO I GET IT IF I CAN"T GET TO THE SITE!!!

Are you running security software? Antivirus, antispyware, and/or firewall? What are they?

If you don't have SP2 installed you have to set updating to automatic, which will load and install SP2 and whatever other updates are applicable.
