Hi, I am having this problem on Win 7 for some months now but never try to ask for help!!
When I explore the internet suddenly the problem will occure ( sudden stop stuck) then after some minutes it will work again ( I will be able to move the page or close it), I am using old version of IE at that time I thought this is maybe the problem. but, later when my connection is off, I faced the same problem whenever I open a media player any kind!! the player will not play in proper way and agian stuck video, but when I close it or leave for few minutes it will be ok.
the thing is I do not know why I am having this stuck problem whenever I do something on my laptop, exploring internet, playing videos, even without internet connection just in case the problem is from it !!

I tried searching for soluation but nothing, I tried clean disk and disk defragment but nothing solved, it is like something on my computer that make the windows have a problem when doing anything.

Could u please help if u understand what am talking about, because I am a noob when it comes to these sort of things

Thank u in advanced~

Hi -
Just some quick information on OpenAL program, from Wiki -
OpenAL (Open Audio Library) is a cross-platform audio API. It is designed for efficient rendering of multichannel three dimensional positional audio.

Applications - Armed Assault - Regnum Online - Jedi Knight 2 and Jedi Knight 3 - Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Freedom Fighters, Hitman, Psychonauts -
Many other free software, open-source games also use OpenAL. Some examples include FlightGear, War§ow, and Warzone 2100

If you (or someone that uses this unit) plays these games, chances are that is where it was installed -
If you do not use any of these apps then it should be safe to remove it -

Regards -
EDIT -
Your Java also seems outdated - Open Control Panel > Open Java (looks like a coffee cup) > Click on the second tab (Update now)
Once updated, please remove all older versions of installed Java -

As jhayz requested, what is the exact model number of your HP laptop?

When a "freeze" occurs, you could check the Windows Events Logs for any reported problem.
 • In the search box type "Event" and click on "Event Viewer" in top column.
 • Click on "Windows Logs" -->"Application and System." Look for "Date and Time" when the freezes occur.
 • This may or may not provide a clue.
Most newer HP laptops have onboard diagnostic software. See if your computer has something like the following: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&docname=c00849402&product=18703.
If so, run tests to check all hardware components; especially hard drive and memory.

Regards,
Brooks

oh by model means number, i put the name ^^!
I checked the model is HP G61 Notebook PC.

ok I will check the other information but what I am suppose to see?? Will I figure something out?? Will it show if I has a problem and what is it and how I fix it?

Edit: am sorry how I know? I mean how can I diagnose the hardware and memory using this tool? where can I find it on my pc? I try PC help & tool but it show nothing? I do not know if I have this tool!

Edit 2 : I checked the event after I wrote the above.. when I was writing the above minutes ago the stuck happened but it last 10 seconds which usually did not happened (lasting just for seconds!), the last event I did was writing this post so the event show like this:

in application:
event 903 security-SPP general info the software protection service has stoppped.
in system the same time:
The TCP/IP NetBIOS helper service entered the stopped state
.....
and then I checked it show it running!!

Thank u all for providing these information to help :)

Hi -
You will find the listing of all installed programs at > Start >> Control Panel >> Programs and features -
There you can check for older versions of any program (like Java) and also see what other programs you have installed

Select the item(s) that you wish to uninstall from that area -

Regarding running hardware diagnostics, see if your computer has the following:

See this link: System Diagnostics (F2).

To access the UEFI System Diagnostics, turn on the computer and immediately press the esc key to display the Startup Menu, and then press the F2 key.

If UEFI System Diagnostics is present, click "Diagnostics" and run all Hard Drive and Memory tests. Report any errors.

Brooks

I open a media player any kind!! the player will not play in proper way and agian stuck video,
What other media player? I see Realplayer as one and it may be a compatible issue with your system. It may also be a codec problem. Try VLC 2.0 which is widely used and has most video format supports.
Java™ 6 Update 15 (64-bit) (Version: 6.0.150)
Java™ 6 Update 29 (Version: 6.0.290)
Java™ SE Development Kit 6 Update 15 (64-bit) (Version: 1.6.0.150
What operating system type are you running? Right-click Computer icon and choose Properties. What is the system type? You should install JRE instead of JSE and the latest version of the same system type. It would also be beneficial to follow the diagnostic test as suggested by Artrooks and remove any programs as instructed by noknojon.

@ noknojon : thanks i removed all the other old types

@ Artrooks : ok, Thanks

@jhayz : I am using VLC but not 2.0, I only install real player at certain time to check something. When I played videos by VLC at that time, the video will stuck the image will stop so I thought the problem from VlC and then I install real player but I had the same problem and then I update VLC to the version I am using now it is VLC 1.1.11. I update java yesterday after reading nokojon comments to java™6 update31, and I delete all others which were 2 and in control panel I only have one java this one. the system type: 64-bit operating system. I must say I think I hve some 32 bit program because I once read it is ok to install 32-bit on 64-bit!
Quote: You should install JRE instead of JSE.

what do you mean by JRE??

Edit

I run the system diagnostics
I had something like this:
System Diagnostics
F1 system information
F2 start-up test
F3 Run-In test
F4 Hard Disk test
F11 Error Log

So I pressed F4 Hard Disk test the result was:
Primary Hard Disk self test
Quick Test passed
Full test Passed
SMART CHECK Passed

There were no problems in running this test. I remember one month ago I did memory test I found it on my computer but I do not remember where exactly the result for checking the memory was ok also. So I guess the problem is something else right?

I will tell you everythings that I knew just in case it will help to find the real problem.
1- I sometimes remove programs using revo I read some comments in youtube saying it is good program, some said it not ok to remove programs using revo, and there was a comments said it is ok if it is 32-bit program not 64-bit ones. So is it ok to use revo or because I used it, some left over files affect the pc and cause this problem?
2- I was using ESET NOD32 Anti-virus version 4, then I install ESET NOD32 Internt/Smart Security V4 it was ok untill cause me a problem when I start-up the PC, it will enter the desktop then it will had a screen of the ESET Program and last for more that ten minutes untill I turn off the power of the PC and re-open it, I had this problem more than 7 times then I thought maybe it is the caused, I remove it and install ESET NOD32 Anti-virus V5 the new one. But I think the problem something else although I am glad I remove the smart security it caused me some problem.
3- I used to play video using K-Lite Codec Pack (klcodec267f), when the problem begin to raise I delete it and focus on VLC and install real player just for test I know it is not the last version but I was not going to use it all the time. I update VLC but the problem did not go away!.
4- Amessage will appear on my computer it is about heath analayz and tune-up, it said tune-up will remove the left over files and other things is it ok to use it? I am asking this because I thought maybe If I use this option tune-up the prblem will gone!
5- Also, is it ok to update the things that windows offers? I read is not ok but most said it is ok?

It looks as if your hard drive passed all the tests. The memory test is immediately below the hard drive test . You stated that you have previously tested the memory and found no problems.

Revo Uninstaller Free version doesn't seem to have "Full 64-bit compatibility - Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7" according to their web site: http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html.
The Pro Version of Revo Uninstaller is 64-bit compatible. I like Revo and have used it without problems. If you have 64-bit windows you should purchase the Revo Pro version.

If the tune-up message that appears on your computer is from HP Support Assistant, it would be safe to run. To run a tune-up, check out this link: Run the HP Support Assistant. You might want to follow the directions to update to the latest version before running it.

Windows Updates are OK to install. I personally don't install Optional hardware drivers from the Windows Update site. I prefer the the manufacturer of my hardware's website for any driver updates.

Brooks

I Opened HP Support Assistant, there were some important and recommanded things that I must update but I never did thinking it may harm the PC, so is it save to update all 5 of them or just the HP advisor and the new version of HP Support Assistant? then I run tune-up?

I had like this
1- Important :Atheros Wireless LAN Driver-Win7
2- Important : HP Quick Launch Buttons
3- Important :Download the new HP Support Assistant
4- recomanded : HP Advisor
5- recomanded : Muvee Reveal Basic

Also, I read from the site u provided that before running tune up, the PC must have all the update versions.

in the new update message on PC I only have one important update but it is concering Microsoft Office, and I had three optional update like this:

1- nVidia-Display, Other hardware-NVIDIA GeForce G 103M
2- Synaptics-Input- Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad
3- Windows Internet Explorer 9
So it is not important to run these optional updates right?

I did not like the new IE so I did not update it to this version, but on PC I have nVidia but I did not know do i have to update this one or not because it say optional!!

Thanks for all of these tips :)

I would update all Important and Recommended updates. The Optional ones are your decision.
