One of my users' computers continually gets bogged down with Symantetc Endpoint Protection finding and quarrantining APQEA.tmp, etc. files. I've restored it to older configurations and it works for a while and then happens again. Today, restoring hasn't worked and the errors are still there but now there is also a Master Boot Record for Physical Drive No. 0 error and Boot Sector For Drive C error. I am trying to convince him to just let me upgrade to Windows 7 but he has some programs he's afraid he will lose. You helped me out on my home computers so I naturally thought of you! Thanks!

Well...I think that I would at least...check the functional status of the hard drive via the appropriate hard drive diagnostic...before doing anything.

The errors you mention may indicate a scrambled Windows install...but that scrambling may be the result of deterioration of the hard drive or partition on which the O/S is installed.
