Win 7 Normal Mode won't start, will go past Starting up Screen and just hit a Black screen and will hit a Crash Dump (blue error screen)..... I can boot into safe mode fine and I have fun CHKSDK and after a reboot it fixed a few problems but I hit the same Crash Dump Screen. I have also made sure my whole pc is all clean and connected, no corroding parts etc etc, made sure my pci-e slot is default etc etc, no luck at all...

Its a new installation and worked fine last night and early this morning after separate boots. But as soon as I booted this afternoon it wouldn't load and would hit the blue error crash dump screen....

So any suggestions?

Just last night My main HDD died also which is why I had to use my secondary HDD as my main....

=\

1) When you "ran checkdisk" dis you run it with the "/r" switch? If not, please run chkdsk /r now.

2) Download BlueScreenView:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe to run the program.
when scanning is done, go to EDIT - Select All
Go to FILE - SAVE Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all of the content, and paste it into your next reply

I hope that I did It right, after I ran the chkdsk /r it went through a few reboots and ran the actual chksdk and took ages fixing clusters I think it was doing. i let it finish (took ages) woke up, it was hibernating, let me login and i got to normal mode windows 7...

So If you could possibly take a look still and maybe help me figure out exactly why it happened... =\ Or why it happens, that'd be great :)

Well it did crash again, it also was very laggy and slow. I just re installed win 7 again but only 32 bit since I don't really need 64 (atm)

Its been working fine for the moment, been going fluently in and out of hibernation so I hope it is all good...

Also should I use Avast? Or which would you recommend? I use malwarebytes along with an av usually but Not sure if I should continue to use Avast...

The best free av's these days seem to be Microsoft Security Essentials, Avira, and Avast. I've never believed in skimping on security (my feeling has always been if you can afford $50 for a game you can afford to spend money on a top notch anti virus app). I use Kaspersky. But that's just my opinion and you'll hear many others to the contrary.
