The Multimedia audio controller driver does not show up after reinstalling Win XP Home from the original Dell CD.
I visited the Dell web site and attempted to download fresh drivers including the chipset. All updates and SP3 were installed.
The only sound system is the original Dell intigrated system. I reinstalled all of the drivers that I saved from the installation before I reinstalled XP Home.

CPU=2.8GHz with 2048 RAM.
