I am running XP & have an ATAPI DVD A DH16AAL SCSI CdRom Device with a yellow exclamation point next to it. The error message reads: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) I've considered simply uninstalling & restarting but I wasn't 100% it was reinstall & didn't want to chance it without asking you guys first.

Go here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060
and run the Microsoft fixit program.
That should work. If not post back. You could also do it manually as they give the instructions for that too.
But the Fixit is so much easier to do and you can save it to your desktop in case of future need.

Good Luck
Roger

That's a neat little tip. Thank you so much. It has been resolved.

Glad to hear it, Nice that it was a simple fix too.

Cheers
