I installed MW4 Vengeance and the 1st expansion pack "Dark Knight". This worked fine on my new Windows 7 system. However, after I installed both the Innersphere and Clan Mech Packs succussfully, unfortunately, none of the MW4 games worked. I either get to the initial mech lab screen and then try to select something and it crashes back to desktop; or it just keeps trying to load and then times out back to the desktop. So, I uninstall the mech packs, and all works well again. Additionally, the stand-alone "Mercenaries" for MW4 installed successfully, but again, this game just does not want to load in Win7.

Has anyone heard or know of anywhere to get a patch or workaround for these mechpacks and the mercenaries? Heck, I was able to get MW3 and the expansion to work on Win7- a game that is 3 years older at least. So, I don't know what is up with MW4 mechpacks. I did try to run both as administrator and to set compatibility to win 98se and winxp, but still could'nt get those mechpacks or mercenaries for mw4 to work :(

Any suggestions or help, I would be truly grateful. Thanks :)

Check to make sure that your video card and chipset drivers are all updated.

I'm pretty certain my Nvidia drivers are updated, that was one of the first things I did when I got my new system 2 weeks ago. Not so sure about the chipset drivers though. How do I check and/or update those?

You go to the manufacturer of your motherboards site.

I downloaded the gigabyte driver tuner for the 1155 socket chipset on my mobo. But, when I tried to run a scan on it, I kept getting an error stating to check my internet connection. So, I turned off my zonealarm firewall and tried again, and no luck. So, I am unable to run the scan to check to see if my chipset drivers on my mobo are up to date or not. Interet connection is fine, as I am obviously posting this message to you.

Is there a way to check on my computer where to find what and where the latest drivers on the mobo chipset are? Or, should I just download and install what they have from : http://www.official-drivers.com/installer/?seed=gigabyte&gclid=CO_89Mua6q4CFUgaQgodPSXQMQ

Thanks!

You should be downloading the drivers directly from Gigabyte and not a 3rd Party Source. Using Driver Checking sites is bad practice. By turning off Zone Alarm what do you mean, and how did you do it?

I just temporarily disabled the firewall in ZoneAlarm.

I thought I was on a gigabyte website regarding the driver updates, my bad.

Do you mean this website instead?:

http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/download-center.aspx?ck=2

Should I download this update for my mobo - Z68AP-D3 Socket 1155 ??

There are 2 versions available. ver 1.0 and 2.0

I don't know what version I actually have. Is there a way to check? And, if so, how?

Thanks.

You will have to look on the motherboard to determine the revision type. It should be on a corner of the board or just by the video card.

I'll have to crack open the case and take a look to see what version mobo I have when I get home tonight.

But, I did contact Fry's, where I purchased the computer components and had them put everything together, and I asked them about the chipset drivers. They assured me that when they set it all up, that I had the most updated drivers for the mobo when I picked up my machine 3 weeks ago. So, I think it is safe to say that the drivers I have on my system are up to date.

if they used the drivers from the CD then those drivers could be 4 to 6 months old depending on the time the motherboard sat on the shelf.

chipset drivers updated from Gigabyte website.

Since I have a clear panel on side panel, it was pretty easy to see the revision # on the mobo. It was exactly where you said it would be... rev 2.0.

I ran that Driver Agent scan that was recommended on the Gigabyte site after I updated the chipset drivers, and the Driver Agent scan indicated that the "Intel Management Engine Interface" was out of date. I know this cannot be true because I just downloaded it and installed it. I ran the scan after I rebooted the computer. So, I agree with you and will be more cautious in the future regarding the reliability and safety of 3rd party sites like that one.

At any rate, I think I'm good to go for now and am ready for the next step.

Thanks.
