I replaced the screen on a Dell Inspiron 1545 and now it will not boot. The power light blinks white as if it is in standby mode but when I press the power button nothing happens. The cd drive light also blinks about every 3 seconds. I have completely disassembled the unit twice to make sure all the contact points are making correct contact. I have tested the power board and it is good. What gives? The laptop is getting power but I can't get it out of standby mode. Any help would be appreciated!!

Basic troubleshooting time

1. disconnect the cable going from the motherboard to the LCD, test with external monitor.

2. have someone else confirm the connections.

3. try disconnecting everything except one memory (Try a swap too) and the power switch and external display.

Good Luck
