Hi,

I've been given a Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop but it has an intermittant backlight problem.(Backlight goes off after 10 mins or so)
In the past I've changed the inverter and solved backlight issues but they've all been 'hard' faults: ie, permanently faulty back lights.
The one time I changed an inverter for an intermittant fault it seemed to be ok for a week, then went faulty again.
Has anybody any ideas? or should I just go straight for the inverter?

Thanks in advance

I would go for an inverter, and an LCD cable (sounds odd, I know, but it can short out in weird ways sometimes)
If I have not responded to you within 24 hours, please PM me.

That sounds like a plan - I'll give it a go.

Thanks
