Hello- Once upon a time, I had installed Microsoft Security Essentials on my XP Pro SP3 x86 machine. After a lot of issues with this program, I removed it with Revo and re-instated my avast! Internet Security 2012. Now, I have apparent residue from the MSSE that is raising havoc with things. First, I can't back my C:\ up because of this Microsoft Antimalware file, and it is causing issues with other scans, too.
Actually, there are two items I would like to get rid of in 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft'
1)C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware
2 C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft Security Client
When I try to get rid of them, I get an 'Access is Denied' warning. Could someone please help me in getting rid of these items and straighten the Registry out, too?
I certainly appreciate it- Thanks!
