Hi there, first off, I appreciate this community and am thankful for a place to be able to go to for advice! I am an IT professional for a local public school district, and know quite a bit, but this one has really got me. The user was infected with the System checker virus, which thus far I had removed most traces of, but it has left a rootkit behind that I cannot find, which is causing search websites to be redirected to ad sites. Help!

Below is the DDS log, and GMER, which errored out but I was able to run the scan using Services, Registry, and Files as checked options. (received the LoadDriver error or something similar)

Please disregard this post. I was finally, somehow able to get TDSSKiller to run on the affected machine, and it found the Rootkit.Boot.SST.b variant, and everything else beyond that seems to be working properly now.

Thank you for your time.
