HI I have questions about GPS-like programs for a laptop.

As a passenger I use my cell phone when driving around to locate my position r an address in town (GOOGLE MAPS). ,
I sometimes just look at it to pass the time and follow that little triangle as it moves on the map as we are driving.

I would find it helpful if one could install the very same type of program (that is on these cell/smartphones) on
a laptop in the event that I travel to anywhere that I am not familiar with and use in place of my cell.

But I cant seem to find anything (free or pay) that offers this for a laptop.
If I was in an unfamiliar city, in the hotel, I could use my laptop to show me my location and surrounding
streets (instead of having to depend on my smaller screen cell phone, nor a GPS unit that is stuck in the car)..
Plus it would be faster than googling my destination and looking for the map.

Does such a program exist? And am I making myself clear?
Thanks in advance..

You're looking for GPS software for laptops such as this: Garmin Mobile PC North America GPS Software for Laptops. You'll need to be sure that whatever software you acquire has a GPS receiver as part of the package so that you can use it real time.
