mass effect save files?

Where are they? And if I do a backup via steam does that backup include the save files?

I believe they're located at:

C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\My Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect\Save

As far as I know, Steam does not backup saved games.

Only certain Steam games allow you to sync saved games using Steam Cloud. Mass Effect isn't one of them, and since EA and Valve aren't exactly the best of friends, don't expect it any time soon. However, Mass Effect 3 does sync with Origin.
