Hi, everyone. Haven't been on the forum in months. Glad to be back.

Our relatively new Lenova office computer suddenly shut off today. I tried a restart and heard the hard drive power up and then shut off with two quick beeps. I assume they were post error codes. I called a friend who told me he thought that was memory since I don't know my beep codes. Can't tell you much except that the OS is Windows 7. I've never checked out the computer so I'm not sure what is inside.

Do the two beeps mean anything without the BIOS company's name? My A+ manual is eight years old and seemed to be no help except to suggest a parity error which seems unlikely. I have a bunch of RAM chips I could swap out and a working PS if I go out there tomorrow (on my day off) but if the code means something else I won't bother.

Any ideas?

Does "Our relatively new Lenova (Lenovo?) office computer" mean still under warranty?

Warranty Status Lookup

It is a hardware problem.
There is more than one cause for this problem.

I would not suspect memory if it won't stay powered up with or without and display.
Shutting down suddenly means something like bad power supply, heatsink came loose etc.
