Is there any way for me to recover a file I password protected and then forgot the password?

Hi garnetwr

There is a useful site which can be found here. It lists the possible solutions you may be able to try...be aware that they are quite complexed. I don't know how legal some of the things are; excel purposely makes it hard for you to get around passwords - whats the point of having them if they can be broken. However they do understand that in some cases you have to recover a needy file and a few possibilites are covered. Please be legal though and don't use the methods in any other way apart from recovering a file of yours.
