There are no CPU's that are 4 GHz. at stock. Comparing the old Phenom II XPU's to Sandy Bridge is very much apples to oranges. Below are CPU's that match the Phenom II X2 555 at stock in both dual and quad versions.

Intel Core i3-2120 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz
Intel Core i5-2500 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz

AMD (Due to the architecture of FX, quad FX CPU's function similarly to an Intel dual core with HyperThreading as AMD's version of HyperThreading uses actual hardware cores. There are additional differences, however.)

AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz
AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 3.1GHz
