I have been playing around with the display on my WinXp and I have made a complete mess of it.
The menu and status bars on all my programs have shrunk to a fraction of an inch.
My eyesight is not so great any more and now the background is so bright that I can barely read the text.
I have an add on to Firefox called NoSquint, but this has only complicated matters and I think I will drop it.

I would really appreciate it if someome could help me out of this visual disaster.

Exactly what settings were you messing with? And you can try system restore if you like.
