I have been using boot camp on my macbook pro to try out windows 8. the developer preview worked with all the drivers and stuff. now when I install the consumer preview I get an error saying I need to be using windows 7. I went and installed all the drivers manually but it still isn't working. none of the mac function keys work like for brightness or volume. and the mouse pad gestures don't work either. I've seen that a lot of other people have gotten it working with out any issues. is there something special I need to do to get it to work?

When you download windows 8 beta they tell you that it is not finished and some things might not work. If it doesnt run I would not sweat it and just move on, if you have another machine you can put it on. Windows 8 will install and run okay on very old machines to boot.
