Hi -
Please download BlueScreenView:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe to run the program.
When scanning is done, go to EDIT - Select All
Go to FILE - SAVE Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all of the content, and paste it into your next reply
This will help us to find if there is a consistant reason for your problem -

Thank You -

See previous topic in Am I Infected? forum: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic444476.html

(BlueScreenView report included.)
=================================
I think we have a good case for collecting some more information about what might be going on here.

:step1: Please follow the instructions: BSOD Posting Instructions: Windows 7 - Vista

(Note: When you run BSOD_Windows7_Vista_v2.64_jcgriff2_.exe, it will also run autoruns.exe ... and both need to be in the same location!)
... with one exception in the following line:
  • "4. Zip up the entire output folder + PERFMON and attach the zip file to your next post."
The BC forums will allow a total attachment size of only 512 kb (and what you need to attach will exceed this limit). Please upload the zip file to a file sharing website of your choice and and post a link to it in this thread so that we can access your uploaded zip file. I will have a look at the contained information and see if I can shed some light on your BSOD issue.

See the suggestions in the following links for recommendations on file sharing websites:
  • http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/15-great-free-online-file-sharing-alternatives/
  • http://www.smashingapps.com/2008/08/28/5-best-free-file-hosting-services-to-store-your-files.html

:step2: Please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy, and post a link to it in this thread.
  • It is a convenient and accurate way of providing us with details of your computer specifications.

The mediafire.com link is not allowing me access ... "You do not have access to this folder".

Perhaps it is not the correct link to your file for download?

Edit: Oh ... and don't forget to publish a Speccy report also. Thanks.

Mediafire doesn't allow link on free vesion ...

Mediafire (free) will work just fine. There is no need to purchase the upgrade version. You may wish to try it again. I suspect you have simply provided the "wrong" link for me to use.

Box will work just fine too of course. The links that you provided do work: Unfortunately, it seems you have not uploaded the correct files though. The two files I get from your two links are:
  • AutoRuns.arn ......2723KB
  • $_netstat_jcgriff2... 33KB
These are two of the files within the folder of files that I want. I need you to zip up the whole folder and upload the zipped up (.zip) file.

Please let me know if there is any step that you are unclear about, and I will attempt to help you with that step. Please try it again.

I don't know how to zip up a folder and do you want both of these files in one folder?

Yes ... easier to put all files in the one folder. That folder will be the Windows7_Vista_jcgriff2 folder: I want the whole folder with everything inside it as per the instructions given earlier.

Right-click on the folder > Send to > Compressed (zipped) Folder.

The new .zip file will be created in the same location. The .zip file can then be uploaded.
