Can't type anything into search box in Google

Hi

I have a funny problem. On a new build on an Asus (ZenBook) laptop running windows 7 home pre 64bit, with IE 9 64 bit. I have google.ca as home page. open IE9 and try to type in search text box. I type anything but I can type fine in the address box. I took it the the place of purchest it from the teckie there said that IE9 problem. He downloaded it again and it worked for a bit. now the same thing.

just curious, what happens when you start the regular IE9 (32Bit) rather than the 64Bit.

You should have both. I have two Windows 7 64bit and they both have IE9 in 32 & 64bit versions.

Or what happens when you go back to IE8?
