Since scanner stopped working, I have deleted programs, files, drivers and done a Disc Cleanup and defrag. in anticipation of doing a clean install of Dell 926 All in One printer's software. One file remains in my Vista 32-bit search listing: it's the name of the program -- Dell 926 AIO Printer. In "Properties" it shows up as 635Kb, but it doesn't show up when I double click on it, nor in "Open File Location". I believe that this remnant of the old files is causing the failure of my clean install. Am I on the right track, and what can I do about it? Many thanks.

The AIO Software should have some files that will remove all older files from a corrupted install.

You may also want to try Revo Uninstaller.
