I have Windows XP and I usually run Firefox, but there are a few websites that seem to work better on IE. I can't remember the last time I successfully used IE. I believe that I had trouble with it a week or two ago, but I was hurrying and just forgot about it.

I can get to the homepage of the website that I want to visit, but when I click on some of the buttons on that page, nothing happens. One or two of the buttons will work, though.

I checked the "automatically detect settings" -- it was unchecked, and the proxy servers -- it was also unchecked.

I had trouble with viruses all through January, and I think that everything is all cleaned up (thanks to this site). I don't know if IE8 started acting strangely after that or not. I just don't use it often enough.
