I have tried to use the latest version of ComboFix on Windows 2000 and received a message that the operating system is no longer supported.

I am looking for the latest version of ComboFix for Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4.

Where can the latest version of ComboFix that is compatible with Windows 2000 be found?

Hello Ascii2 and welcome to BleepingComputer.

Combofix is not compatible with Windows 2000. For more information see the official guide.

The more recent releases of ComboFix might not be compatible with Windows 2000 (officially). However, Windows 2000 is supported by earlier releases of ComboFix.

The information can be found on an earlier version of the guide page.

The guide page from July 20, 2011 shows Windows 2000 as supported. A copy of that guide page may be found:

Combofix is continually updated, older versions are not made available by the author of the tool because often they contain bugs that are fixed in newer versions. If Windows 2000 is no longer supported that is most likely due to the fact that it no longer works correctly with that OS version. Scanning a Windows 2000 computer with an older version, assuming that you could obtain one, is for that reason unwise.
