How can I get passed or change a bios password for a Lenovo ThinkPad SL500? I bought a used one for real cheap, now I know why it was so cheap. But I need to get this password out or get a default one to change the clock settings and other things. Can anybody point me in the right now?

Quite possible that it also has a hard drive password rendering the drive useless.

Several methods
Send to Lenovo with Proof of Ownership.
Take to a Lenovo ASP (Authorized Service Provider) Proof of Ownership

Find a Service Provider or Service Center

The bios password can be reset by dissasembling the laptop and removing the cmos (back up) battery. You can download the service manual from the manufactures web site http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-69929. If the hdd is password locked there is nothing reasonable to do to un lock it. It can be hacked in extreme circumstances but in this case i would replace the drive.
