I have had my computer cleaned in malware but sometimes it appears to be running slow. What should I do. What I mean by slow is like If i click on a program like Word, Mozilla, and My computer It usally takes about 30 secconds to load. Can I speed up my computer without harming it? and I was told My RAM might be bad, is there a way I can check? Hope for help, Thanks

How much Ram is currently in it? Also, what operating system are you using?

Disk Cleanup and defrag are a good place to start.

Start>Programs Files>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup

Start>Programs Files>Accessories>System Tools>defrag

Before you weedout the registry be sure to back up your registry files. It's better to have an old registry than no registry.

Backup your Registry Files in case one of these cleaner programs deletes a needed registry entry. Programs like AdAware, Spybot S&D, cCleaner, and other modify the Registry.

Export it to C:\ and burn it to a cd for use if your Registry is corrupted.

Start>Run>regedit>File>Export Save to C:\

I recommend you go to the HJT Forum and post a HJT log. Go to this link Preparation Guide for use before posting a HijackThis Log and follow the instruction. The expert there will review you log and let you know if you have hidden somewheres inside your system.
