I had at&t's dsl right before the 150gb monthly cap. So I was wondering if I ordered dsl from them again will I always be going over the cap and getting overage charges? My usage breakdown is probably this on average:

1.Streaming 1 movie per night, usually netflix or blockbuster
2.Gaming online through my ps3 or xbox 360 averaging 4 hrs a day
3.Streaming videos on youtube, gametrailers, etc... maybe 2 to 3 hours worth per day.
4.Misc. Downloading podcasts, software, zip files, mp3, etc... maybe 300mb to 500mb worth per day

Am I going to wind up getting screwed every month and no doubt constantly going over 150gb per mo. with this kind of dsl usage?

If so is there any dsl IP that has unlimited 3mbps for around $20 or less per month anywhere?

By the way how much data is typically used for online gaming per hour with gaming consoles?

It is about 30gigs for youtube video. Depending on the quality of the video.
15 gigs for downloading/misc.
Max on high end games, is 80 mb an hour with pc/ps3, average is about 40mb. Avg. 12gig a month

Games, downloading, youtube= 12, 15, 30, =57 gigs a month.
per movie, 2 gb, 30+57=87 gigs,
You would do fine with the cap. :) with more movies to watch.

Keep in mind that HD movie will eat up about 3.5GB.

TV shows are even "worse".
30 minutes HD TV show will take about 1.5GB.

I don't think I would be under 150gb a month. I just remembered that ps3 trial downloads can be 5 to 7gb per download and not to mention how much pshome might use up per month.

How is uverse set up/connected? Does it run through your landline like dsl?

it is 250gb a month. This month they have upgraded the cap from 150 to 250gb. :)
and it runs off your landline just like dsl. They supply you with a router which is called "2wire" i believe

I got the 2wire gateway from them the last time I had dsl with them. Found out that they charge your card the full amount each month and then credit it. Which is just stupid and is one of the reasons why I canceled them last time for not crediting my card correctly a bunch of times. Got tiered of spending hours every month on the phone with there pea brained support. And my connection was always unstable as heck.

Even with a 250gb limit, I've done some more calculating and it looks like I would average 500gb to 700gb a month. I always forget that they count the total bandwidth downloading and "uploading".
