So I have terrible wireless connection in mr dorm, and I want to use the internet on my Ipod. I've set up an AdHoc network and successfully connected it to my ipod (with some difficulty) so that I can browse the internet on it use apps etc. However, I need to go into settings on my ipod and press the "renew lease" button VERY frequently, every 5-10 minutes, or when it locks.

I've tried setting the IP address to static but it didnt seem to help. How can I set it so it will always connect with the same IP? (not have to renew the laese all the time) I'll be happy to give any more information that might be useful.

It's an open network theres no protection.
