I am doing the prep steps and I cannot get Windows 7 firewall started. I have Norton 360 and when I go to the control panel to try to turn on Windows fw it says that it's under the control of Norton. I turned the Norton firewall off but I still can't get the Windows fw started. I can't click on any of the options.

I can but I'd hate to be unprotected for a week. At what point could I reinstall it?

I'd have to completely uniinstall my virus software in order to activate the Windows firewall. I have a different program on my other computer and it works the same way. So, what happens while I have nothing running?

Well in order to run the tools you will need to remove Norton.

If you are using Norton firewall you shouldn't turn on Windows 7's firewall. There is no need to uninstall Norton here, just continue with the Prep Guide.

regards, Elise
