Ok, I have been having a lot of problems lately with spyware and the like. It started a couple of weeks ago, I had some program called AdwareSherriff on my computer. I used some programs like Ad-Aware, Spy-bot, ewido, none of them did the trick. Eventually, I found someone with the same problem somewhere and someone had given them a certain thing to do, which i also followed and that worked. Everything was fine with my computer for about a week. Last night i used my computer with no problems, today, I turn on my computer and asks me if i want to install macromedia flash player, which i thought i had already installed on my computer, but i thought maybe it was an update or something so i agreed to download it. Then, I try to go on with my business but i realize that my computer is REALLY bogged down, and i cant do anything. So, I eventually get it restarted and now I have all kinds of ads popping up and I'm finding all kinds of random programs that i never had before on here. I tried to restart in safe mode and run ad-aware, it found lots of things and was able to get rid of most of them. Then, I restart back into normal mode, and I see a weird icon in my systray for about a second then it dissapears. I attempt to get on the internet via Firefox, but that wont start, so I try to get on with explorer and that opens for a split second and closes. So I restart the computer and now i can get on the internet but all the spyware and ads are back. I dont know what to do. I dont know if the problem is related to what was happening before, but thats what i suspect since my computer was working fine one night then the next time i turn it on i have all kinds of problems. I use Windows XP home. Thanks for any help.

I suggest you post a HijackThis log for examination.
A member of the HijackThis Team will walk you through, step by step, how to disinfect your computer.

Read How to post a HijackThis Log.
Please read, and follow, all directions carefully.

Then, run a log, and post it in the HijackThis forum, at this link. Do not, fix anything, yet.
A member, of the HJT Team, will help you out.
It may take a while to get a response, because the HJT Team are very busy. Please, be patient, these people are volunteers. They will help you out, as soon as possible.

NOTE:
Once you have made the post, please, DO NOT make another post in the HJT forum, until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. The first thing they look for, when looking for logs to reply to, is 0 replies. If you make another post, there will be 1 reply. The team member, glancing over the replies, might assume someone is already helping you out, and will not respond. So, just make your post, and let it sit there, until a team member responds. This way you will be taken care of, in the most timely manner.
